braxton-hicks contractions

today was another apt at my regular OB doctor. when she asked how i was feeling i told her about how i've been cramping alot. when it does happen i can have many in an hour-one time i counted 10 cramps in one hour. but then it will go away for several hours. so theres no real time table on when its gonna happen or for how long. from the reading i've done its most likely Braxton-Hicks contractions, but i felt it best to let the doctor know just in case. when i did so today, the doctor took a swab for something called a Fetal Fibronectin Test. this test helps determine if preterm labor has occured. then she checked my cervix, and that was normal...no dilation or anything of that sort. so thats good!! i'll find out the results of the other test tomorrow, but i'm guessing it will come back negtive. i think my uterous is just getting a workout in preparation for the real thing!
