visiting my friend

tonight i saw my friend Sharon for the first time since everything happened a month ago. our Bible study group took a trip to the skilled nursing facility to visit with her. i confess, i am bad when it comes to hosptials and stuff like that..i just feel so awkward and dont know what to say. sharon had a tracheotomy, so she can't talk, but she does communicate by writing on a wipe board. one half of her face is still paralized and the other half has minimal movement, so its difficult to understand when she is expressing herself. but she was happy to see everyone. her husband said there has been dramatic improvements in the past few days...for example,today she was able to swallow and eat on her own for the first time. she tried to speak. she still has no movement or feeling from below her shoulders, but she can move her arms and hands. its a long road to recovery,but everyone is optimistic. keep praying, its working :)
