life with Caitlin has been wonderful so far. she is such a sweet tempered little girl (most of the time!). the first night home we all had to adjust to the new surroundings and sounds. it was a l-o-n-g night, but we made it through. the next night she ate and slept great with minimal interruptions. same as last night. so i think we're getting the hang of things. she is definatly not a morning person...just like her behavior in the womb, she is asleep most of the day and alert more late afternoon/early evening.
the birds are getting used to her as well. Guiness can already mimick some of her crying sounds.
physically i'm still pretty sore. the left side of me hurts alot more than the right side. the nurse said thats the side the Dr. prob pushed and pulled more on while doing the c-section. unfortunatly my feet are swollen really bad. there are times i can barely move my toes. they said this is suppossedly normal right after giving birth for up to a week....anyone else deal with badly swollen feet after? yesterday i had alot of energy and since i'm not allowed to drive for 2 weeks my mother-in-law Elaine (who came from Florida to help us out this first week) drove me around to do some errands. but today i'm feeling a bit more tired. i just over do it whenever i feel good. gotta pace myself and rest when i can!
emotionally though its crazy. people told me that the love you feel for a new baby is unmatchable. its so true. i was trying to tell Elaine how i was feeling the other day and all i could do was cry. i just love Caitlin so much. . i have known her for only 5 days and yet in that time the bond is amazing. the love i felt for her when i was pregnant doesnt even compare to how i feel now. i know moms out there understand what i mean. i cant really put it into words. all i know is this precious gift is the most amazing thing in my life and i'm so grateful to God for blessing us with her in our lives.
speaking of, she just woke up...lunch time!

Oh girl. I was so swollen BEFORE bryce was born, that i really couldn't GET any more swollen. . .although it IS really normal. When the dr walked in for my last OBGYN appt (the day they induced me) he told me that my toes looked like little sausages. When I got a reaction out of the nurses and doctors when they saw my feet, I KNEW i was seriously swollen! So I totally feel for ya!!! Try to rest and relax girl!
how long till they went back to normal for you?
