Meditations with Saint Augustine

one of my desires is to get back into reading the Word regularly. i keep saying i will sit down and read a chapter or two each day, but there just doesnt seem to be enough hours in the day anymore. so i gotta use whatever time i have available to the fullest. i have several devotional books i've gotten over the years, and i'm sad to say they are getting dusty on my shelf. so i've decided to go through some of them again. its nice cause they are short enough that you can read them while taking a potty break (the only time to myself during the day usually!). i'm gonna start with Daily Meditations with Saint Augustine...something i picked up while living in Saint Augustine, Florida. each week i will share my favorite passage i've read that week. so to get things started, here's one to contemplate from the past week:

Christ Spoke from Heaven with a Star

Christ couldn't yet speak with His tongue on earth, so He spoke from heaven with a star. Thus He demonstrated Who He was, and from where, and for whose sake He had come, not with the voice of flesh, but by the power of the Word which had become flesh.- Sermon 202,2
