first time mom survey

there are several surveys being passed around friends on Facebook. i know several people who read this blog are also on Facebook and have prob already seen this, but i do know a few people who are not and may find it interesting. so here's one i did on First Time Moms:


1. Were you married at the time? 9 years
2. What was your reaction when you found out you were pregnant? very very shocked and surprised. i sat on my floor and cried (tears of joy)
3. How old were you? 32
4. How did you find out you were pregnant? i had just returned from seeing my best friend in FL. i had told her about some pains in my side and we were thinking endometriosis, so i was about to call to make an apt with my doctor when i decided i might as rule out pregnancy as a reason because we had tried for 4 years with no luck. i was very surprised at the result, took 3 pregnancy tests.
5. Who did you tell first? my best friend to let her know it wasnt endometriosis :) after i composed myself enough to be able to drive i went to chris' work and told him
6. Did you want to find out the sex? yes
7. Due date? June 29, 2008
8. Did you deliver early or late? i was induced a week early- June 23, 2008
9. Did you have morning sickness? nothing at all, i was lucky
10. What did you crave? for the first month i wanted citrus-orange and pineapple. then i liked the smell of beer (even though i never liked the taste of it, still dont), and towards the end i did not like the texture of chicken
11. What irritated you the most? my moodiness
12. What was your first child's sex? Girl
13. How many pounds did you gain throughout the pregnancy? 27
14. Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? since i have PCOS (poly-cyctic-ovarian-syndrome) one of the factors of that is insulin resistance. so i was treated as a gestational diabetic. i also had preterm labor at weeks 26 and 33. by week 34 i was dialating so i had to quit work, take terbutaline to stop contractions, and bed rest.
15. Where did you give birth? Northeast Baptist Hospital, San Antonio
16. How many hours were you in labor? well, i was induced with Pitocin at 7am, by 2pm i was ready to push, by 5pm after 3 hours of pushing she still had not come so they decided to do a c-section and she was born at 5:28pm.
17. Who drove you to the hospital? chris
18 . Did you take medicine to ease the pain? oh yeah
19 . How much did your child weigh? 7lbs 12 oz
20 . What did you name him/her? Caitlin Naomi Kinion
21 .. How old is your first born today? 7 months
22. Who does your child look like? everyone says chris but i think she is starting to look a little like momma
23. Did you get mad at your husband during labor? No.
24. Favorite Memory: finding out i was pregnant, the first heartbeat, and first ultrasound seeing her making it all real....when the fertility doctor told me i'd have to take drugs to concieve, and we choose not to, we really didnt think i'd be able to get pregnant and kinda gave up hope.
