lengthy leg update

so i'm still on the quest to figure out whats going on with my leg and why i'm still in pain. this previous monday i went to my family doctor who specializes in internal medicine. after hearing my complaints, etc he examined my knee and said to get an MRI done to see what was going on. so the next day i did. i got the results yesterday--everything structural in the knee was fine but there was some inflammation and fluid. so my dr suggested i see a chiropractor who works in his office so that he could evaluate me for some physical therapy.

this morning i saw the other dr. he did a round of physical exams on my leg(and its still hurting from the prodding and that was an hour ago!). when all was said and done he said the problem isnt in the knee, but in the muscles above the knee on the backside. there is inflammation for sure, and he wants to know why. he said its not a muscle strain cause that would have healed by now. another indication of something going on is that every now and then i get a warm flush on the bottom of my foot (the same side as my leg issue)..doctor said that the sciatic nerve runs right through the problem area and being that that sensation appeared after the other (and its not coming from back pain) something could be hitting/blocking the nerve area. anyway, he wants to know whats going on.

the MRI i had done didnt show the area above the knee too well. he wants the radiologist to look over the stuff again and pay attention to the upper areas. he is going to see if they will do another MRI of the suspected problem area free of charge because there was a "miscommunication" of where to do the imaging. most likely the MRI people will not do it free of charge, but it doesnt hurt to ask! i am also being scheduled for an ultrasound because its cheaper and can show the affected area.

i really like this chiropractor and that he is wanting to get to the root of the problem. much better than the dr at the medclinic who just said "take ibuprofin"..geesh.
