a good thing about not having cable anymore is that we are saving alot on our monthly bills. a bad thing is that unless i get online everyday and check news stations or yahoo, etc i miss out on the latest news. like that John Hughes died-yesterday was it? Paula Abdul not returning to American Idol? Billy Mayes death with cocaine? these are only a couple headlines that caught my attention and here are my reactions:
1) i am saddened by JH death, though he seemed to peak in the 80's with the 'brat pack' and never could attain the same feeling in his later movies. he will forever be known for portraying teen angst. his movies are the ones i grew up with, have almost the whole movie memorized and to a degree defined my junior high/high school experiences. so many great films to choose from, but i think my favorite is Some Kind of Wonderful followed closely by Breakfast Club.
2) the whole Abdul thing is just crazy. i dont really think she gave critizism, and they way she clapped annoyed me. will she be missed? yes, by the contestants more than Simon or Randy i'd assume. though if it came down to it i'd rather see her than Kara. but i'll prob still watch cause i do like the talent.
3) how could anyone be so enthusiastic over Oxyclean detergent??? it makes sense now...cocaine! sorry, but that was my first thought.
