so we've made it to Florida. Port Orange, to be exact. it was a long drive. we prob should have split it up and stayed the night somewhere, but in our eagerness (or was it the caffeine and sugar?) we said we could drive straight through. this was our drive: left San Antonio at 3:45am monday morning with chris behind the wheel and drove to just before Houston before stopping for gas. I took over the driving and ended up at a little ways past Lake Charles, LA. Chris took his turn and drove to Pensacola, Fl which is the halfway point. we had dinner around 8pm and decided we could continue driving. I then drove to Talahassee where we gassed up again. chris said he'd drive from there to our final destination but about an hour into it he was getting tired so we switched and i took the wheel again and drove all the way to Daytona. we arrived about 530am tuesday morning. we wouldve arrived sooner, but there was a traffic accident on the interstate which we sat in for an hour or so. on the way home we'll stop again in pensacola but this time stay the night. no need in rushingback!!
to her credit, caitlin did pretty well. she slept alot, looked out the windows, watched some dvd's.. she really only got cranky in the middle of the night when we would pull over at a rest stop to stretch,etc. the car would stop and she would wke up. but once we started moving again she would calm down. we did find out that she does NOT like the big trucks! ooh, those are so scary!!
anyway, since being here we've hung out with the family. on wednesday we went to st.augustine. tonight is church and tomorrow of course is Christmas Day. saturday if its not raining we want to take caitlin to the beach for the very first time.
i've had several personal thoughts since being here but i'll save those for another post later on. stay tuned ;)

eat at aunt catfish for me, sarnellis or down the hatch. oh, i just had a dream about port orange and ponce inlet last night. too funny. i love that place!!!! my dad did a lot of development down there and i have the best memories.
