resting day

this has been a very busy week so far. i've had something to do everyday. i have loved it even though the laundry has piled up, the floors need to be cleaned, and other household chores have been neglected. but its been worth it :) here are some highlights:

monday was such a beautiful day, so naturally i spent alot of time... in the grocery store. but after that was all said and done me and caitlin worked and played out in the yard for a long time. she is feeling so much better now. what a difference!

on tuesday i drove to Temple, Tx (about 2 hrs from here-halfway to Dallas) to see a highschool friend who was visiting from NC. i love that even though we don't see eachother very often when we do get together its like no time has passed. you just can't find friendships like that all the time! caitlin enjoyed the car ride and was very well behaved. on the way there we made a stop at Ikea to get out and stretch our legs. on the way back i hit Austin at rush hour which meant an extra hour in stop and go traffic. blah. but overall it was a great time.

wednesday morning was Bible study and then after that i went out to lunch with a new friend. i am a pretty shy person in crowds of new people, but when its just one -on -one i really enjoy getting to know new people. while at lunch caitlin discovered gum under the table. yuck. but she thought it was great fun. now she is looking under our dining room table for more. and prob every table she comes into contact with for awhile now. lovely.

wednesday night i went with my best friend and her daughter to the Spurs game. we had gotten free tickets as a perk for signing up at our gym. i had not been to a Spurs game in prob 3 years, so i was really excited. and the team did not dissappoint me! it was an amazing game. i am so impressed how everyone worked together. the beginning of the season was a bit tough integrating the new players but now everyone is in sync and playing some good basketball. after the game two of the players were signing autographs for selected season ticket holders, but those of us regular folks could still be near enough to take their picture. cool. it was a very fun evening!!!!

today i am declaring a Day Of Rest. no plans.

friday is a holiday, so chris will be off work with a 3 day weekend. woohoo! i know there are tentative plans for the afternoon for he and caitlin to go to a friends house, so since i'll have time to myself i may try to get caught up on housework.....nah. then i have ladies life group in the evening.

i'm thinking maybe saturday, weather permitting, will be a good day for Sea World. we'll see.

then Sunday is Easter. i'm really looking forward to what our church has planned. i know the staff is working hard to prepare and i know God will definatly make His presence known! there will be an egg hunt after the service for the kiddos. i can picture caitlin saying "ball! ball! ball!" everytime she finds an egg.

so there you go. whew. last week i asked for an abnormal week. would i call this abnormal? i'm not really sure. but it has been/will be an awesome week either way!! :)
