my dad is a great man. he has been through so much in his life and yet he still stands so strong.
recently he found out he has prostate cancer. in a range of T1 being best, T5 being worst, he is at state T2. after reviewing all the treatment options he decided to go with hormone therapy along with direct beam radiation. there will be a series of 45 sessions (5x week for 9 weeks).
my mother passed away from melanoma 8 years ago. even though prostate cancer is a very slow growing cancer and the radiation treatment has a very high success rate it still makes me nervous. i want him to be around for a long time!
i know God's timing is perfect. there is a reason for everything even though we might not be able to see it now. but we as humans like to have controll, not realizing the greater Plan out there. we just need to rely on Him through our life journey and He will give us peace and comfort no matter what arises.
I love you dad!

Hi Lani, what a wonderful way to keep in contact with all your family and friends.
Your dad has chosen a good way to treat the prostate cancer. Grandpa has just finished his radiation treatments and done real well. He kept up the exercising and didn't have many side effects. We'll be on our way in a few weeks for our trip to Texas. Can't wait to get out of this cold weather for awhile.
Grandpa's sister Karen, has been hospitalized and being treated for Melonoma Cancer. We are keeping up with her progress on a web site called Caringbridge. Her children are keeping us updated. She is out of the hospital right now, but will have to have some more treatments again soon. The web site has been so helpful, and we can also communicate our thoughts and comments and can they can pass them on to her while she's in isolation at the hospital.
We'll keep praying for you Lani. We hope to see you soon. Love Grandma K
I hope for your sake and everyone around him that he will come thru this with flying colors! He is kept in my prayers as well as Genes (as soon as I tell him) Stay strong Dad!!!
