102.2

no, its not my favorite radio station...in fact i dont know if its even one around here. anyway, 102.2 was my fever from last night. i have not felt well all weekend. so much for enjoying my first weekend after a new job!

my stomach ache started friday night. saturday brought along a massive headache/dizziness and nausia. i thought perhaps just a migrane, but i've never had fever with one of those before. sunday found more of the same (taking tylenol brought down the fever but once it wore off it was back again) and by sunday evening i had had enough and went to the medclinic.

the doctor was perplexed. it took several hours and several exams to try to diagnose the problem. my symptoms were not matching one particular thing. she ended up by drawing some blood and sent me on my way with more tylenol for the fever. she said she would call me with the lab results by 11pm (this was at 9pm), and true to her word around 11:05 she called. the thing that stood out on the lab more than anything was elevated levels of alkaline phosphatase, ast, and alt. these are enzymes produced by the liver indicating liver damage (details to follw). as for what to do she said to come in today for a follow up.

so around 4am this morning i woke up from my sleep with the massive headache and shivering like crazy. i piled on several blankets and eventually got some sleep. when i woke up this morning all the covers were off and my nightgown was soaked, so i know i sweated the fever out. good news though-my headache was gone and my temp was normal!

when i went for the follow up with the doctor she told me to make an apt with my family doctor for next week to re-do the labs and find out what caused the readings to be so high. in the meantime she perscribed an atibiotic and to call her if i felt any worse. for most of the day i've felt better--amazing what a horrible headache can do to a person. although as i type this i feel myself warming up, and a most recent temp reading shows 101.4. i guess i better go grab that tylenol again!
