you know its a lazy weekend and that i dont have a life when the most exciting thing that happened all weekend was two phone calls. the first one is from where i USED to work. yes, i put it in caps for a reason.
turns out that i got a letter from United Health Group this past week asking what i wanted to do with the 401K account i had through them for that short time. i called the number provided and talked to a guy. since it was a minimal amount i said just cash it out and send me a check. ok, all set. well, about 10 minutes later i get a call from some lady at UHG. she says "hi lani, i just wanted you to know about some great updates to your benefit program you have with us" i said "um...i'm no longer employed with ya'll" she says "you're not??" i say "nope." she says "oh...(pause) ok..(pause)..sorry to bother you" i say "no problem" and hang up. well geeze, if they still had me as employed shouldnt i at least still get a paycheck from them? :)
the second call dealt with my credit card company. i have two different cards with the same company. a week or so ago i transferred funds from one card to the other to increase my credit line in order to do a balance transfer. i then changed my mind and called the company to have them move the funds back to the other card. the lady there said they couldnt move between the cards. i was like "what? you just did!" after a very frustrating call i hung up. i decided to call back in hopes of speaking with a different person. bingo! i explained the situation and the person said "well, one of your cards has been closed" HUNH??? i was like when did that happen??? turns out when i transferred funds originally they thought i wanted to cancel that card completely, so they did. in order to correct the situation they have to send a letter to have the higher ups review it. UGH.
i don't know whats sadder, the fact that there are some questionable people out there, or that these calls were the most exciting thing that happened over the weekend?!
