the wellness doctor

my neighbor has raved for a long time about her doctor. a couple weeks ago he gave a seminar that she wanted me to go to, so i joined her. it was very interesting and i really liked the guy and his approach. thus, i made an appointment for myself. last week he did a series of tests and x-rays, and yesterday chris and i went to hear what he had to say about it all.

he has devised an all encompasing plan including nutrition, exercise, and adjustments all with a natural/holistic approach. he is not a "symptom chaser" but rather finds whats going on at the core to cause the symptoms and treats that. he is whats called a wellness chiropractor.

with his help i am looking forward to getting off all, or at least some, of the medications i'm on and let my body begin to heal itself. i'm 32 years old and take a total of 14 pills a day (6 different prescriptions). thats just crazy!! there are certain things, like the PCOS and insulin resistance, which i will need to take supplements for to help my body and the hormones work properly, but i look forward to the natural approach vs the pharmaceutical approach.

it will be a step by step process. first thing was getting another blood workup today to check some things. in the days to come i will be "detoxing" my body ....not so sure about that, but hey if it means i can start digesting certain foods again, than i'm all for it. healthy eating is good, esp when you can eat it and not have to see it the following day in the toilet (sorry for the gross description, but its been like that since i had my gallbladder out..very frustrating!) he will have an exercise program designed esp for me and my body and i'll have to track my activities, eating, and sleeping habits for him to review. its gonna be pretty intense for the first while, but i'm hoping this will be the man to help me to better health.

oh, here's his info. check it out!

Just be cautious, some chiropractors are excellent doctors and can help alot. However, there are some out there that try and make you believe that their practice can cure anything, cancer, aids, the common cold, infections, etc with simple spinal "adjustments". These are the ones to look out for. I googled this guy and didnt find anything out of the ordinary, but use common sense. Just take care of yourself and be well!

Yeah, the last one we went to was borderline along that thought process. He said it helped, but also that there was a very positive correlation to major illness and spinal misalignment.

Of course, he didn't mention the possibility that the misalignment was due to the treatment of the disease (like lying in bed all day) but he did suggest that it was the other way around.

On the other hand, he did help me tremendously after a motorcycle accident impaired my ability to walk or sit comfortably. Wait... The primary treatment came from Dr. Grimm... Same office, but different chiropractor. Does it matter? I dunno.
