today was my 3rd Ob apt. we checked the baby's heartbeat again, and it came in at 160 bpm which the dr. said was good and strong. this time the baby was in the center of the uterous instead of on the far left side. the dr. also looked over my blood sugar numbers and changed my medication since my fasting numbers were still higher than she liked. i was taking 1500mg of Metformin but now she's put me on Glyburide 5mg. i am to take this 2x day. she said that there is more research during pregnancy on this medicine than with Metformin. i am to still take the Metformin 1xday along with the Glyburide for a week, then stop the Metformin all together. i still have to moniter my blood sugar 4x day. she also said she still suspects that by the time its all said and done i'll have to go on insulin. but for now we'll try this new medication.
i asked about after i have the baby-do i go back to the Metformin since i was taking that for 7 months before i even got pregnant? she suggested i consult an endocrinologist when that time comes.
so overall it was a productive visit. next month though will be the BIG DAY! mark your calendars-Feb.11 @ 10:30am we'll find out if its Caleb or Kaitlyn! :)
