i was hoping 2008 would start off better than 2007 ended, because that was pretty dismal. doesnt seem to be the case...
this evening, around 10:20pm or so when i attempted to wash some dishes, i discovered no water pressure in the kitchen! upon further research it turns out that we had gushing water coming from under our foundation right at the corner of our porch. by the time this was discovered there was already a great amount of water seeping onto our porch, onto the grass and sidewalk that leads to the driveway, and onto the driveway itself. i called our home warranty who said they would process the request but may not be till morning before somebody would get back to us. if it turns out the break was on our foundation they would pay, if its in the yard they will not but we'd have to pay for the service call..and then in fine print in our contract is states that if they have to go through foundation to fix the repair they will only pay out up to $500 for that....who knows how much it actually costs. chris called our water system and they said they would send someone out to turn off our water.
amazingly the water dept got here quicker than the police usually do when we call them because of our neighbors! he took care of turning off the water, so at least we dont have to worry about anymore water flooding.
so tune in tomorrow to find out the rest of the saga...thankfully both me and chris are off on mondays so somebody will be here if/when the warranty people send a service guy to check out the problem. in the meantime, if needed, my folks live nearby and have already offered their showers, etc. thanks dad and nadean, we may be taking you up on it!

We have room here too:):):):):) I will pray for you guys.
Ya! lots of hot showers in Florida! Of course the commute might be a mite long. Don't worry, I'm sure everything will work out alright for you guys. Just don't let the home warranty people take advantage of you. When my parents had a water break in their foundation, it only cost them $300 to have the guy locate the leak, break into the foundation, fix the leak and reseal the foundation. But in case its more than just a simple repair, you also have your home insurance to fall back on, the best part is that the amount that your home warranty pays can be generally be applied toward your insurance's deductible.
