How big is your baby? Your baby is about 14 ¼ inches long and weighs in at 2 ½ pounds. This still seems very small, but remember that during the last several weeks of pregnancy your baby will gain a significant amount of weight.
What is happening with your baby? Your baby’s brain is really beginning to develop into a more complex organ. Up until this point, your baby’s brain has been relatively smooth, but beginning this week his/her brain will develop grooves and indentions along its surface. The amount of brain tissue also begins to increase during the 28th week.
The development of hair also continues. Eyebrows and eyelashes are visible, while the hair on your baby’s head grows even longer. Your baby is also starting to look a little rounder as the fat storage under the skin continues to develop. This is an important part of development that will continue through the remainder of your pregnancy.-American Pregnancy Association
i still cant get over how fast time has flown. only a few more months and before we know it Caitlin will be here. this past week i've still had cramps of various forms, though i would say it has lessened since the week prior, so thats good!! i'm getting sharp pains like i got when i first realized i was pregnant, so i'm guessing Caitlin is trying to stretch out in her cramped space! i've also had a queasy stomach 24/7..i havent thrown up,but boy do i constantly feel like i have to. unfortunatly the past 4 days my sugar numbers have consistatly risen alot. perhaps this is the spike the doctor has been predicting would happen, even with the new diet. if it keeps up this way i'm almost positive she will put me on insulin when i see her next week. it gets so frustrating though. for one thing i feel like i'm always having to eat. i know, poor me, right? and then when i do eat it doesnt seem to matter what it is, the numbers are always high. for example saturday i totally treated myself to some pizza which i hadnt had in a long time. now, 1 slice is ok...but i indulged and had 3. yep. i admit it. so of course i was expecting my number to be high, which it was. well whats frustrating is that my normal breakfast which i've had countless times since being prgnat-eggs, 1 piece of fiber rich toast, and a cup of milk is now bringing my numbers just as high as it was for the pizza!! now, whats up with that?! so no matter what i eat, they are on the rise. and i'm getting very frustrated. that, along with feeling like i need to throw up and the cramps/pains all day, does not make a very fun time in my body as of late.
but i just keep reminding myself it is soo worth it. i'm keeping my eyes on the prize for a healthy Caitlin in just 13 weeks (if not sooner!).
