early this morning Birdie and Sweetie (our cockatiels) had whats called a "night fright". this is where something startles them, usually when its dark, and they instinctively try to escape, but unfortunatly since they are caged they end up flapping around the cage and sometimes break and/or loose feathers in the process. cockatiels are notorious for this type of behavior, thats why we have a nightlight next to their cages at night.
anyway, this happened this morning close to 5am. guess what must have startled them? an earthquake! yep, at 4:51am this morning there was a 3.7 magnatude earthquake about 45 miles southeast of San Antonio! http://www.ksat.com/weather/15811008/detail.html
there are some reports that people as far as north san antonio felt something. chris and i didnt, but our birds did. pretty neat!
