34 weeks and new ultrasound photos
Your baby now weighs about 4 3/4 pounds and is almost 18 inches long. Her fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once she's born — are filling her out, making her rounder. Her skin is also smoother than ever. Her central nervous system is maturing and her lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you've been nervous about preterm labor, you'll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.-Babycenter
today was another picture day for Caitlin at the specialist doctor. my sugar numbers are good (with the exception of being scolded for some chinese food i ate earlier this week...but i just had to have some, it tasted sooo good and it had been awhile since i had chinese food!) she is looking good-i'm at 34 weeks and Caitlin is weighing in at 5lbs 13oz, just shy of 6lbs. if you figure they gain about a half pound each week from here on out we're looking at least 3 more pounds if i go full term-close to 9 pounds. big girl! (they also commented, for the second time i might add, that she had some big feet!) but the specialist said that my regular OB may decide to deliver a couple weeks earlier than my original due date (if Caitlin doesnt come on her own before then). i see my regular OB on wednesday for another stress test and see if resting this past week has helped (even though i'm still feeling contractions regularly). i'll have to get her opinion on the delivery date/size too then.
anyway, here are the latest beauty pics....amazing what technology can do these days, and its not even that 4D stuff, just the regular ultrasound.
