this past weekend my best friend and i took a trip to Dallas. we left our kids and husbands at home. it was so nice to be away from the responsibilities of being a wife and mom for 2 days.we took our time getting there and back..no rush. ah, that was great!
on our drive up on saturday we made a stop at Ikea. i have had several friends rave about the place, but i had never been. i loved it!! definatly worth the 1.5 hr drive to go there again sometime! (1.5 to Ikea, not Dallas which is usually about 5hrs away) saturday night once we made it to the hotel we just relaxed and watched chick-flicks on tv. i can't remember the last time i've been able to watch a whole movie at home without having to chase after caitlin for something or another!!
sunday we got up and went to Dallas airport to meet a friend who had a couple hours layover. turns out the terminal where we got something to drink and talk was where a bunch of military personell were arriving back home from deployment. there was a huge crowd clapping for them and cheering as they entered the terminal. it was very cool!
it pretty much rained the whole weekend. on the drive back home sunday we passed 4 accidents. we were so thankful to have had no problems ourselves!
it was a pretty quick trip, but filled with great fellowship and relaxation. i feel recharged. i think stay at home moms need a weekend every now and then!!!
