this time last monday i was doubting whether or not we made the right decision to put our house up for sale. we had done alot of praying about it, and i was ok if we ended up just staying where we were. well, that wednesday, thurs, and friday we had showings on our house. no feedback though, so i was still discouraged. monday i went out shopping with a friend and i expressed my frustration with the whole house thing. well, that afternoon when i got home we got the call from our realtor--we had an offer! we made a counter-offer. tuesday we found out that was accepted so we signed the paperwork. turns out the buyer did not want an inspection done (which is very rare, but good for us!). buyer wanted to close Nov.15...about a month away.
knowing that we now needed to find somewhere to move to our realtor sent us info about houses on the market. this was tuesday night. i picked out a few to look at, and off we went. we looked at the first one and immediatly LOVED it. it had everything we were looking for and more. in amazing condition with lots of new upgrades and renovations. vacant and move-in ready. priced way below where it should have been (easily could have asked 10K more and sold it but then it would have been out of our price range). and get this--the house was just put on the market that day!! we looked at another house after that, but couldnt stop talking about the first one. we went back to the house later that evening to see what the neighborhood was like at night. very quiet. one of the neighbors came out and chatted with us. very nice. a teacher too! told us a little about the neighbors that sounded really good to us. that night we prayed about it and the next morning, wednesday, we told our agent to make the offer.
the selling agent was very excited. thursday (yesterday) we signed the contract, got all our other financing info in order, and submitted it for the sellers approval. about an hour ago we got the word that they signed it!
so now its official :) we are planning on closing for both houses(providing everything goes smoothly in the meantime) the same day...Nov.15
next week i'll take photos when we can get into the house with the inspector. the house is 4 bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, living room, the converted garage, the bfast room, covered patio, a second patio off one of the bdrms, and a large utility room.
all i gotta say is that God's hand was truely in the midst of all this. the timing was perfect and we are getting more than we originally thought we'd be able to afford. i am soo thankful. i never would have thought it would move this quickly and so smoothly!! Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow!
