now that i've been home a few days and settled back into life here i can take a moment to reflect on our recent trip. one thing for sure is that Port Orange/ Daytona Beach is not the same as when i used to live there. neither is St. Augustine. they say you can never go home again which is true. i was not impressed with either place at all. way too crowded. i'm glad i lived there when i did, cause i would not want to live there now.
but aside from that, we really enjoyed being around family. my inlaws are such a fun group of people. chris mom (elaine), dad (kevin), brother (kenneth), sister (kathleen) all loved on and played with caitlin. she had such a good time with them! her vocabulary increased tenfold being around so many people. one night kathleen had a graduation party and invited some friends over. all the older kids interacted with caitlin and she got such a kick out of that! at one point they played a game of beer pong...caitlin decided she too wanted to put the ping pong balls into the cups so she did. everyone got a big laugh (see video to fully understand). another day we went to the beach..caitlin had never seen the beach before. she called the waves "bubbles". if we lived near the beach i think she would enjoy spending lots of time there.
all in all it was a good trip.
