search for shoes

the "girly" shoes

this is how Goldilocks must have felt. too big, too small, too narrow, too wide. aah, just right. except that "just right" is few and far between when searching for shoes for caitlin who has a big, wide foot. and not only did God's humor become prevelant when He blessed a very introverted, somewhat shy person with a very outgoing, people loving child but also here i am a person with about 3 pairs of shoes to my name with a child who LOVES shoes. the first time we went to Payless you would have thought she had died and gone to heaven.

going shoe shopping is a chore in and of itself, but then caitlin gets so mad when you put a shoe on her foot and then have to take it off again. if it were up to her she would just keep piling shoe on top of shoe on top of shoe. the worst thing in the world is getting it off her foot.

but anyway, i'm having a difficult time finding the proper fitting size (size 7 or 8 depending on style). i refuse to spend alot of money on shoes that she will only outgrow in a couple months. Goodwill and the kids resale stores to the rescue! although i confess, i did buy a pair of shoes at retail cost the other day *shock!*. they are her very first pair of girly pink tennis shoes. and i even stepped outside my comfort zone a little further and got her a pair of cute girly dress shoes because they were on sale half off at Sears and at a very reasonable cost. (to me "dress shoes" are the pair of flip flops that don't have mud on them!). so this task, while challenging, has been good for me too. tom-boy becomes girly-girl? nah, i won't go that far.
