Mother's Day weekend

i just gotta say, i'm blessed. i have a great family. great friends. and a great God. it's so easy to get wrapped up in troubles and not take time to stop and smell the roses. literally. this weekend has been one of those times for me. i'm very grateful for all that i have been given!
in Germany there is a piece of furniture called an Eckbank...it means 'corner bench'. well, my folks bought an antique Eckbank (built in the 50's) when they lived in Germany 9 years ago. lately they have been wanting some more space in their kitchen so they asked me if i'd like to have it now that my house is big enough to hold it. of course i said yes!! so this weekend they moved it here. we choose to leave off the shelves on the other part of the bench (as seen below) so that i could still look out from my kitchen.today, for Mother's Day, my wonderful husband got me a bouquet of flowers. the cool thing is these are all from our back yard! thank you previous house owner for planting such beautiful flowers!i cooked lunch this afternoon for my mother for her gift, but when she arrived she had a bunch of flowers for me! they are so pretty, i hope my "black thumb" doesn't ruin them!

and then to top the day off, i'm having another half price Frapp, and watching a Spurs game later tonight on the big screen (at my folk's house). so all in all its been a wonderful weekend.
