All good things must come to an end

i've had a vacation in Virginia. what i thought would be a quick trip to a wedding turned out to be a week and a half of fun. not only did i see my brother get married but also spent 6 nights at my friends Laura and Ian's house. i had planned on visiting them last sunday and then joining my parents on the drive back to TX but Laura and Ian persuaded me to stay with them for a little bit (not like they had to persuade me very much!). I got to hang out with them and also see another high school friend and also a college friend whom i had not seen in 10 years. I got to visit downtown Washington Dc, Occoquan, and Alexandria. i ate some delicious food. but mostly what i enjoyed most was just having a chance to be me again. Lani. not 'wife' or 'mother'. but me. and i've come to see some things in myself i miss. things i want to improve. and changes i definatly want to make when i get back. i've had some great conversations with my friends and spent time reconnecting with them again. this trip came at a perfect time in my life and i thank God for the blessings i have been given this week. i'm sure gonna miss my friends. but i hope to return again soon, not waiting another 5-10 years before seeing them again!!
