busyness

i need to stay busy. i realized this today. earlier in the week i was feeling very down. also earlier in the week things were very SLOW at work. so much so that yesterday our boss gave us a 2 hour lunch break because there was not much to do.

today however we were slammed. very busy. the main Dr who had been gone for 3 days was back, and his patients were in force to see him. and unlike when i've worked at other jobs and the busyness was overwhelming, today i thrived off it. i loved it. i didnt even mind having to stay 40 minutes late at work because of some patients that took a little longer than planned.

my duties at work expanded yesterday. i am now free to check in patients, take histories...do all the stuff that a tech would normally do in the room with the patient. this means that i no longer stand around waiting for something to do. i get to be busy.

and that helps take my mind of missing my family during the day. cause i still do miss them. alot. but as long as there are bulging eyes, oozing abscesses, blood work, exploratory surgery, and a host of other feline ailments out there i think the heartache will be kept at bay.
