what a whirlwind

so last time i blogged i was feeling way frustrated and down in the dumps. after writing before, i ended up getting a very part time job as a secretary for a cleaning company. the hours were few and the job itself was very disorganized and not really my "cup of tea". i was not very happy with it, but figured it was money none the less so i'd stay with it. meanwhile i kept my eye open for other jobs. I was approached by someone where caitlin goes to school about an open teaching position and was asked to put in an application, so i did. i was kinda apprehensive about it since never teached but the idea warmed on me and i got excited. but then i'm assuming they found a more qualified person because that position got filled. also during that time i had two interviews for Panera Bread, but found out later they were just taking applications. needless to say i was getting bummed again over everything.

then last week happened.

a friend of mine emailed me monday about a sign she saw on a feline only vet that they were hiring a full time technician and would train. well, if you know me, you know that i love cats and i love medical stuff. what a perfect combination job! so tuesday morning i filled out an application at the vet after dropping caitlin off at school. a few hours later i got a call to come back for an interview later that afternoon! during the interview i felt very comfortable. i got a great vibe from all the people. i left there feeling pretty good. well wednesday i got a call to come back for what they called a "working interview" where you shadow the technicians for a whole day to make sure you like the job and they like you, etc. so i did that yesterday, friday, from 8-5.

it. was. awesome.

this is like a dream job for me in soooo many ways. i got to be around cats all day. the clinic has 5 cats of their own that roam around freely. i got to go into the rooms with the doctor and the patients. i got to watch the doctor perform surgeries.i got to see several cats get ultrasounded for various things. i got to watch how blood was processed for lab work. i got see how they did laundry and fold the towels/gowns,etc certain ways. (ok. so maybe doing laundry isnt really my dream job, but i dont mind). i saw how to prepare the instruments and stuff for the sanitizer. i got to know some of the staff. (and get this, one of the doctors is from Jacksonville, Fl, and graduated from my college-FLAGLER COLLEGE-in 2002. small world!!!!!). i was asked to go out to lunch with the office manager and 2 other technicians, and the office manager paid. sweet! all in all it was a fabulous day. i still don't know if i have the job though. as i left the manager said she would give me a call next week for sure. so i'm taking that and trusting that is a good sign.

wow. i would have never imagined 30 days ago that i would be given an opportunity at a job that was perfect for me. the song Unanswered Prayers rang though my head this week, cause boy was i dissappointed at how those other jobs didn't work out. but it really was all for the good. thank you Jesus!
