Guitar Hero 2

i'm not a big fan of video/computer games. frankly, my attention span lasts a minute or two max then i'm bored. chris, on the other hand, is a common player of games and can go for hours on end. its quite amazing.

well, this weekend i was introduced to a game called Guitar Hero 2 on PlayStation 2. and i have to give a shout-out to it here in my blog, because its rather a cool thing. the method of playing is actually a plastic guitar with 5 colored buttons on the neck and a strumming thingy on the bottom (yes, my guitar lingo is quite professional, dont you think?!). the object is to press the correct color button as the notes of the song play, so in essence you are playing the guitar part in various songs. and these songs are ones made popular by various real life rock bands. you can start out with a very slow tempo until you get the hang of the beats in certain songs, then play it in normal speed. it sounds alot easier by my description than it actually is.

you can learn more about it here. i would suggest it for any person (adult or kid) who has an interest in music. but don't plan on playing it for hours on end...after awhile your hands start getting tired from hitting the notes!

i have been going through some serious withdrawl with the NBA season over and no SPURS games....so chris was hoping this game may take my mind off it and provide some evening entertainment. the question is will this new form of entertainment occupy that level and time of interest? while its a fun game, i have to answer no....there's nothing like the Spurs to make my day!
